Lately, I’ve been trying to minimize as many things as possible in life. This includes people as well. Before you conclude what an arrogant I am, let me explain why I want fewer people and less stuff in life.
After twenty-seven years of life on earth, I finally came to realize that the main cause of unhappiness is never-ending human greed and desire. Try to analyze for a second what are things that caused you stress and unhappiness; I’m sure majority of you will say people and desire.
The problem with human nature is we think that we will be happy once we get things that we don’t have. This is why people are busy with never-ending rat-race, chasing things just because others are doing it.
Yes, there’ll be some satisfaction once you get some things you desired, but it’s momentary. A few days later, you will be like; “That’s it? where’s the happiness?” You’ll have this amazing discovery that things that you thought were important are not really that important.
Meanwhile, people value money so much that they forget morality. Most of them don’t even care how it affects others. What if you lose few cents here and there, do you take the money with you when you die? No.
Let’s talk about people, I was taken for granted by many of my relatives. Reason? Money and Greed. So I deleted all of their numbers and I don’t talk to them anymore. It’s much better and peaceful now.
There’s a misconception that more is always good, but less is better. Don’t be mistaken, I’m not saying I try to make less money, but I try to keep things intentional and picky. I no longer want to be that millennial who go after money for material possessions.
Presently, I try to live in the moment and avoid things and people that ruin my peace. It’s difficult and sometimes you get caught up in between circumstances that you wish didn’t exist. So each day, I try to be grateful for the things I have and avoid comparing my life with others.
