I’ve been blogging since last four years and I make a living online by selling digital products as an affiliate. I’ve written this simple tutorial to help you start a website/blog for less than $100.
Many people believe that creating a blog or website is difficult; they think that it’s necessary to learn coding to create one, but it’s not true anymore. With help of CMS (content management system) like WordPress, you can start a blog or website within 10 minutes.
Since I use SiteGround to build my websites, below I’ll show you how to buy web hosting using SiteGround as an example. The steps are almost same for other hosting companies.
Let’s begin. . .
First, Visit this page.
You will notice discounts on all hosting plans. Now choose the suitable plan you prefer, usually, the basic plan is good enough for new websites.
Once you’ve chosen your hosting package, just click Get Started button.
Now you’ll be taken to a new page. You can register your desired Domain name for less than $15.
If you already have a domain, enter it and click Proceed.
Now you’ll be taken to a final Sign-up page. Just fill your Contact Information, Password, Payment Information and Purchase Information. Then click PAY NOW button.
That’s it! Your Hosting Purchase is complete, you’ll receive an email from SiteGround containing your cPanel Information.
Install a Platform (WordPress)
After purchasing your hosting plan, you can install software or platform that will help you build your website within minutes. There are platforms like Joomla, Drupal, etc. But WordPress is the best and most popular blogging platform that’ll help you design your site with ease.
Now follow the below steps to Install WordPress on your domain.
After logging into your cPanel, scroll down till you find WordPress or WordPress Installer and click on it.
It will redirect to a new page where you can see the WordPress software version with details. Click Install as shown in the above screenshot.
Now select your domain where you want to install and fill the below necessary details like Site Name, Site Description, email, etc. Then click Install for the final time. That’s it, your WordPress installation is complete.
Now login to your WordPress with username and password you set. Your WordPress Dashboard will look similar to the above image.
